Girard-Perregaux & Million Dollar Listing’s Ryan Serhant Host Exclusive Le Corbusier Trilogy Preview

Girard-Perregaux, iconic luxury Swiss watch brand, was proud to partner up with Ryan Serhant, luxury real estate power player from Bravo TV’s hit show Million Dollar Listing New York, at the brand’s Madison Avenue Boutique. Serhant hosted a select group of architecture and real estate aficionados for the exclusive preview of the Girard-Perregaux Le Corbusier Trilogy of timepieces in the U.S.

Le Corbusier, a native to the brand’s home in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland, is one of the greatest names in modern architecture and design, a perfect fit for Serhant’s clientele whom appreciate the finest in New York City’s real estate.

“Girard-Perregaux and Le Corbusier are both iconic names in today’s world”, said Serhant, who was seen wearing a Girard-Perregaux 1966 Equation of Time watch. “It is a rare opportunity to be able to see first hand the result of such expert design collaboration”.

The Le Corbusier Trilogy, in cooperation with Foundation Le Corbusier, employs gold, sapphire crystal, steel and even concrete to reinterpret the work of the great Modernist in a series of exceptional timepieces. It reflects the three places that most embodied the concept of home to the man himself.

“Le Corbusier once said that the home should be the treasure chest of living”, said Michele Sofisti, CEO of the Sowind Group (Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard). “I can’t think of anyone else better than Ryan to preview this collection, considering he constantly strives to find each person’s own treasure within this city”.

Meridian Watches - Made in England!

What's that you say?  Who is Meridian?

In just a few weeks' time, Salon QP will convene and with it, the introduction of Meridian's range of timekeepers.  Meridian is a new brand, based in England.  And by that I don't mean a P.O. box or bunch of offices.  These watches are all made by hand in England!

I don't want to steal their thunder - so here is a preliminary sketch to give you a flavor.  What I can tell you is that these are truly HAND MADE watches.  No mass stamping, outsourcing from third-party suppliers - no compromising.  This is the real deal.

This will be a watch that you not only want to have now, but for a lifetime.   Folks, as you can imagine, I see and handle a LOT of watches - this is something that is truly going to take your breath away.  It is not a show pony, to be locked up in your safe - this is a watch that demands to be worn!

Here's the news - straight from the source -

In rural Norfolk, The Meridian Watch Company are hand-making watches that remind the world of England’s proud watchmaking heritage.

As proclaimed by their slogan, 'Made in England', Meridian manufactures the components and sources the materials from the home of Byron and Blake. From the case and back, machined as a pair to fit perfectly, to the leather or webbing strap, hand- stitched in Surrey, every element is carefully hand-worked to their exacting standards and English sensibilities – understated, enduring and purposeful. Lastly, the base Swiss movement is hand-finished in Meridian's style – with added complications improving accuracy – and the watch is assembled in the workshop.

Meridian watches are intended to be worn, knocked about and enjoyed: the straps grow to the individual contours of your wrist, the sapphire crystal is coated on both sides by a British military contractor for unsurpassed clarity and toughness, and the case has been designed to handle a lifetime's exposure to the elements, both in England and abroad. To facilitate this, the packaging includes a complimentary passport holder from SmythsonTM of Bond Street. Handmade tools also accompany every Meridian timepiece.

You can watch the countdown to release here -

In SKYFALL, to be released in autumn of 2012, James Bond will take to the screen for the 23rdtime with Daniel Craig again assuming the role of the world’s favourite secret agent. And once again, 007 will wear an OMEGA Seamaster.

To celebrate its seventh performance in a supporting role in a Bond film, OMEGA is launching the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M”SKYFALL” Limited Edition watch.

Like every Planet Ocean, the new watch is ready for underwater adventure. Equipped with a unidirectional rotating diving bezel and a helium escape valve, the watch is water resistant 60 bar / 600 metres / 2000 feet.

The watch has a 42 mm brushed and polished stainless steel case and a matching patented screw-and-pin bracelet whose divers’ clasp is engraved with “007”. The rotating diving bezel is distinguished by its matt black ceramic ring with a chromium nitride diving scale.

The applied indexes on the matt structured black dial are coated with white Super-LumiNova emitting a blue light as are the polished, facetted rhodium-plated hands. The exception is the minute hand which emits a green light, as does the dot on the diving bezel. This feature makes it easy for divers to keep track of their time at a glance. At the 7 o’clock position is a 007 logo and at 3 o’clock, there is a date window.

The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M SKYFALL Limited Edition is powered by OMEGA's exclusive new Co-Axial calibre 8507. SKYFALL 007 is on its rotor in black-varnished engraving. The movement is visible through sapphire crystal in the brushed screw-in caseback.

Along with OMEGA’s industry-changing Co-Axial technology, the watch is equipped with an "Si14" silicon balance spring. The combination is so stable and reliable that the Planet Ocean comes with a full four-year warranty.

The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M SKYFALL wristwatch is being produced in an edition limited to 5,007 pieces and is delivered in a special presentation box.

Aquadive Treasure Hunt

Famous Aquadive watch brand officially re-launches with an international
watch treasure hunt
Vienna, Austria: September 11, 2011: The Aquadive Great Watch Hunt has begun! The famous Aquadive watch brand is officially being re-launched with a challenge for all able bodied adventurers: follow the clues and you’ll find one of several Aquadive Bathyscaphe 100 (value $1990) watches secreted by well-known divers in legendary dive destinations around the world. The new Aquadive watch line is a modern update of the wildly popular original Aquadive watches from the 1960’s.
The Hunt begins in September with the release of the first clue to a watch hidden at a prominent dive site in the Midwest United States by Master Instructor Jimmy Sommer. Each month a new set of clues will lead adventurers to a different location and a new watch; the Hunt encompasses bodies of water in and around the United States and Europe.

The first Hunt will be officiated at the dive location between September 29 and October 7th. A potential of 32 adventurers will qualify for each secreted watch, with one winner being drawn. The location will be verified on the dive site’s website. Here’s the clue to this location:
This dive site is home to a flying Hollywood star made famous by Wesley Snipes
The second Hunt will be conducted in South Florida in November. Subsequent locations will be announced through the Aquadive website: www.aquadive.com.

The original Aquadive brand was founded in 1962, with no less than astronaut Scott Carpenter appearing as an advertising spokesperson. “We spent several years with divers and watch experts engineering a complete line of professional watches that brings this highly sought after brand back to life. We modernised the sleek look of the original watches, making them bigger and bolder but retaining the character that made them THE dive watch to wear back in the early days of recreational diving,” says Rick Marei, President of Aquadive.

The Aquadive line is composed of four models: the Bathyscaphe 100N ($1490), Bathyscaphe 100 DLC (black coated case $1990), Bathyscaphe 100 SS (stainless case, edition of 500, $1990) and Bathyscaphe 300 (depth rated to 5000 meters $2990). A limited number of watches assembled to current specifications out of New Old Stock parts are also available as the NOS Diver ($1290).

Unlike many other watch offerings that represent a hodgepodge of European and Asian parts stuffed into off-the-shelf Chinese cases, Aquadives are hand made in Switzerland of Swiss and German components. Every aspect of an Aquadive’s design and execution reflects thoughtful precision: from original German CNC machine crafted cases to engraved ceramic bezel inserts. Their look is unmistakably classic and unique in a market filled with dive watches assembled from common catalogue components.

Aquadive watches feature ETA 2836-2 and ETA 2824-2 automatic 25 jewel Swiss movements, shock protection, ceramic inserts, and genuine ISOfrane straps, among other highly desirable attributes. They are all made with newly designed and produced components, except for the NOS models. All watches have an unprecedented two year limited warranty.
