Aquadive Treasure Hunt

Famous Aquadive watch brand officially re-launches with an international
watch treasure hunt
Vienna, Austria: September 11, 2011: The Aquadive Great Watch Hunt has begun! The famous Aquadive watch brand is officially being re-launched with a challenge for all able bodied adventurers: follow the clues and you’ll find one of several Aquadive Bathyscaphe 100 (value $1990) watches secreted by well-known divers in legendary dive destinations around the world. The new Aquadive watch line is a modern update of the wildly popular original Aquadive watches from the 1960’s.
The Hunt begins in September with the release of the first clue to a watch hidden at a prominent dive site in the Midwest United States by Master Instructor Jimmy Sommer. Each month a new set of clues will lead adventurers to a different location and a new watch; the Hunt encompasses bodies of water in and around the United States and Europe.

The first Hunt will be officiated at the dive location between September 29 and October 7th. A potential of 32 adventurers will qualify for each secreted watch, with one winner being drawn. The location will be verified on the dive site’s website. Here’s the clue to this location:
This dive site is home to a flying Hollywood star made famous by Wesley Snipes
The second Hunt will be conducted in South Florida in November. Subsequent locations will be announced through the Aquadive website: www.aquadive.com.

The original Aquadive brand was founded in 1962, with no less than astronaut Scott Carpenter appearing as an advertising spokesperson. “We spent several years with divers and watch experts engineering a complete line of professional watches that brings this highly sought after brand back to life. We modernised the sleek look of the original watches, making them bigger and bolder but retaining the character that made them THE dive watch to wear back in the early days of recreational diving,” says Rick Marei, President of Aquadive.

The Aquadive line is composed of four models: the Bathyscaphe 100N ($1490), Bathyscaphe 100 DLC (black coated case $1990), Bathyscaphe 100 SS (stainless case, edition of 500, $1990) and Bathyscaphe 300 (depth rated to 5000 meters $2990). A limited number of watches assembled to current specifications out of New Old Stock parts are also available as the NOS Diver ($1290).

Unlike many other watch offerings that represent a hodgepodge of European and Asian parts stuffed into off-the-shelf Chinese cases, Aquadives are hand made in Switzerland of Swiss and German components. Every aspect of an Aquadive’s design and execution reflects thoughtful precision: from original German CNC machine crafted cases to engraved ceramic bezel inserts. Their look is unmistakably classic and unique in a market filled with dive watches assembled from common catalogue components.

Aquadive watches feature ETA 2836-2 and ETA 2824-2 automatic 25 jewel Swiss movements, shock protection, ceramic inserts, and genuine ISOfrane straps, among other highly desirable attributes. They are all made with newly designed and produced components, except for the NOS models. All watches have an unprecedented two year limited warranty.
